Keep or Trade Amendola?

That is the biggest question this football season.  We are talking about a Player that is being plugged into one of the top offenses in the country.  He took over the spot of a fantastic receiver named Wes Welker, who has an average of 112 receptions over the span of 6 years.  That is a ridiculous amount of catches and has made PPR owners very happy.

Amendola is not Wes Welker.  Amendola may just be the next "Mr. Glass."  He played only one game in 2011, 11 games in 2012 and this year was injured during preseason and now injured again during the first week of the season.  Not a good start.  Amendola has huge upside potential.  Especially with New England missing their top 4 receivers from last year (Welker 1354 yards, Lloyd 911 years, Gronkowski 790 yards and Hernandez 483 yards) totaling 3,538 yards and a total of 26 touch downs.  Someone is going to step up and inherit all of those yards and touchdowns.

The unfortunate thing is…I don't believe it will be Amendola.

I really wish it would be, but we need to look at history and what information we have this year already.  Amendola currently is listed as Doubtful with a groin injury.  This is not a injury you want for your top wide receiver.  This is something that will bother him all year.  I did like his toughness to come back in and finish out the game last week, but last time I checked…we don't get points for toughness.  Every time he plays injured just opens him up to getting hurt even worse.

Outlook: Trade Him!  Amendola being on New England makes him fantasy football gold.  I see him sitting out this game and getting a nice long break to "heal up" for Tampa Bay in week 3.  That might also be Gronkowski's big return.  I say hold Amendola on your roster until he has a good game and then deal him away.  Unless you can trade him now, but I think we will see a couple good games out of him when he comes back in week 3.  Make him someone else's problem and never look back.
